Abstrakt

In many countries, main stress in teaching chemistry is put at present on the relation between chemistry and everyday life. From that point of view, the chemistry syllabus has to be closely related to everyday life and environment. Slovak chemistry teachers at elementary and secondary schools have access only to few comprehensive materials on these topics in comparison with some foreign countries. We assume that educational texts, experiments and electronic media dealing with chemistry of everyday life can contribute to higher effectiveness of chemistry education, better motivation of chemistry learning, a change in the relation teacher - student, and change in methods and forms of chemistry education.
