Transfer of Laboratory Results to Plant Scale in Development of Reactor for Alkylation of Aniline with Ethanol

Abstrakt

BorsodChem Moravian Chemical Works Co. manufactures specialty amines using liquid-phase reactions on heterogeneous catalysts in trickle-bed reactors. Laboratory reactors differ from production-scale reactors mainly in hydrodynamic conditions of the reaction mixture flow. The authors demonstrate the possibility of transferring laboratory-scale data to production-scale reactor making use of the existing technology based on the same principle as the newly developed technology.
