Abstract

Near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy offers many advantages for a wide range of industrial applications. In combination with multivariate data analysis NIR spectroscopy offers interesting utilization for both qualitative and quantitative analysis. The method is fast and non-destructive and can be implemented in process analysis. The review presents recent pharmaceutical applications of NIR spectroscopy, e.g. in raw materials testing, direct analysis of dosage forms, and process monitoring and process control.
