Abstract

Copyrolysis of brown coal with biomass is a method for recovery of liquid hydrocarbons, which can be used after refining as a fuel for engines. The results of brown coal - rape cake copyrolysis on laboratory scale, carried out at up to 650 °C are described. The mass balance of semicoke, liquid and gas products from the copyrolysis of brown coal (85–100 %) – rape cake was estimated. The yields of liquid products were 20 %, whilst those in rape cake pyrolysis 30 %. The yields of gases ranged between 17 and 19 % and their calorific values were 31–32 MJ m–3.
