Abstract

The main topics of the European Parliament and Council Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 of 16 December 2008 on classification, labeling and packaging of substances and mixtures, amending and repealing Directives 67/548/EEC and 1999/45/EC, and amending Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (CLP) are explained and discussed. The article is dealing with very important and actual topic which is the new directive Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP). This directive represents a new system following internationally valid system GHS (Globally Harmonized System). The new directive will increase safety for the human health and will increase protection against potential hazardous chemicals for the environment.
