Abstract

Gold nanostructures are a perspective material that is studied in detail recently. The control over their shape and size enables one to tune their properties in a wide range which is beneficial for various potential applications. In this work, the general physical, electric and chemical properties of the Au nanostructures are presented, and the dependence of these properties on the structure is discussed. Furthermore, potential applications toward electronics, biotechnology and analytical methods are introduced. Also, general approaches to prepare the nanostructures by top‑down and bottom-up methods are described. The last chapter summarizes the results achieved in this field by the authors of this work.
