Fibrinogen
Abstract
Fibrinogen, a protein from blood plasma, plays a crucial role in blood coagulation, inflammation and wound healing platelet aggregation. Attention is paid to fibrinogen because it is involved in many physiological and pathological processes, some of which may be life-threatening. This review summarizes recent findings about the fascinating macromolecules. The reader finds biochemical, physicochemical and physiological data about fibrinogen structure, biosynthesis and degradation and becomes acquainted with the fibrinogen-to-fibrin pathway.Downloads
