Abstract

A brief survey of bitter compounds occurring in nature aims to show the importance of this group of renewable materials and to contribute to the knowledge of biodiversity of secondary metabolites which can be utilized, among others, in food and pharmaceutical industry. The beauty and biodiversity of this group of mostly secondary metabolites are illustrated.
