Abstract

A survey of bioindicators utilized in monitoring of the environment is given. Attention is aimed at the tests used in the Czech Republic: tests of acute toxicity on fish and water-fleas, of growth inhibition in fresh-water algae and of root growth inhibition. The test organisms used abroad are also discussed.
