Abstract

Affinity precipitation combines high performance and simplicity of precipitation methods with high selectivity achieved in affinity methods of protein purification. The affinity precipitation could have a great potential as an alternative or complement to affinity chromatography, mainly in downstream processes. Basic principles and characteristics of the method are given. In addition, the paper describes some special applications of affinity precipitation in protein purification.
