Abstract

In the framework of the study of sorption properties of polymers used in membrane separation processes, an apparatus was designed for continuous measurements of polymer expansion. The apparatus was tested by measuring expansion of isotropic and anisotropic materials in aromatic, linear aliphatic, and alicyclic hydrocarbons, in alcohols, and in hydrocarbon and hydrocarbon - alcohol mixtures.
