Synthetic Fragrant and Flavouring Substances

Abstract

The paper provides basic information on the industry of fragrant and flavouring substances. These substances are used in perfuming various products, in particular cosmetics and detergents, as well as in aromatizing food products. The current situation and problems in this field are discussed with respect to Czech Republic. Activities of the Department of Organic Technology of the Institute of Chemical Technology , Prague in research and implementation of new technologies are described.
