Abstract

A review on supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) of metal complexes and organometallic compounds is presented. The current state of knowledge concerning sample pretreatment - derivatization, choice of complexing and chelating agents for metal ions, including lanthanides and actinides, and organometallic species is summarised. Extraction of real samples is shown. Comparison of efficiency with commonly used extraction methods presents SFE as a promising and environmentally friendly alternative.
