Abstract

The invention of the filed-flow fractionation concept represents a most important contribution to the science of separation of large molecules and particles in the course of the last 30 years. A generic focusing field-flow fractionation principle has developed both in theory and in analytical methodology. Particular methods and techniques were proposed and implemented independently by several laboratories in the world. This review summarizes the progress achieved during the last few years.
