Abstract

This paper discusses methods for the preparation of nanostructures, especially the preparation by excimer laser beam. Modification with the laser beam has many advantages due to the unique physical properties of the beam and therefore this method is currently applied in a wide range of applications (ophthalmology, dermatology, plastic surgery and others). When modifying the polymeric substrate, morphological surface changes occur, together with the formation of nanostructures, which are controlled by both the laser beam parameters and by the selected substrate. This paper deals with these nanostructures, laser beam usage, as well as its properties and possibilities.
