Abstract

A brief survey of naturally occurring sour compounds is given. It can contribute to the knowledge of the biodiversity of secondary metabolites which can be utilized among others, in food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industry. The beauty and biodiversity of this group of mostly secondary metabolites are illustrated. The review is also aimed at teachers and students.
