Abstract

In this paper the authors present their entirely subjective approaches to identify mass spectra of small molecules generated by electron ionization or product ion mass spectra of biopolymers generated by collision-induced dissociation. A rich set of interpretation approaches is supported by knowledge of isotopic profiles including fine isotope structures, exact mass measurements, and application of common fragmentation rules known from gas-phase ion chemistry as well as bioinformatics.
