Abstract

The fragmentation of four peptide types, i.e. linear, cyclic, branched and branched-cyclic peptides, is described in four tutorial examples. The possible de novo sequencing approaches are supported by an open tool called CycloBranch. This tutorial represents a practical extension of our preceding article Fundamentals of Mass Spectra Interpretation published in the previous Chemicke listy issue (2/2020) and can serve the newcomers for the basic orientation in the peptidomics field.
