Abstract

A landfill gas extraction well, situated at the closed section of municipal landfill, was continuously monitored for a four years period (2016–2020). The landfill gas production rate was measured, together with the methane content, atmospheric pressure and sampled gas temperature. The collected data clearly confirmed that the monitored landfill section was in a stabilized state, since practically no gas was passing through the well. The continuous monitoring system was found to be a useful tool for landfill control in the period of postclosure care.
