Development, composition, validation and clinical relevance of the first ELISA method for measurement of adipocyte fatty acid binding protein (A-FABP) concentration in serum is presented. First results of clinical testing confirm the hypothesis on the possible use of A-FABP as a marker of metabolic syndrome.
