Abstract

The review concerns catalytic processes for industrial hydrogenolysis of chloro compounds and discusses the criterions for the selection of suitable catalysts. Certain analogy between the behaviour of commonly used hydrorefining sulfidic catalysts in desulfuration, denitrogenation, and dearomatization, where much more data are available, can be used for the prediction of their dehydrochlorination activity. However, rational design of efficient catalyst systems has to be based on further experimental study of the sulfidic catalysts.
