Abstract

This paper provides an overview of carbohydrate-based glycoconjugate vaccines used in clinical practice. The structures of capsular polysaccharides mostly used in vaccine design and preparation of glycoconjugates are highlighted. Molecular mechanisms by which glycoconjugates are able to elicit T-cell-dependent immune response are mentioned.
